We rented a car and drove to a rain forest enclave near Hilo.
On the way there we traveled over lava fields in various stages as plant growth established itself.
The arboretum itself was amazing. Good thing they provide umbrellas!
On the way back we stopped at some waterfalls - one of which is higher than Niagara.
